New Jersey's

Our New Jersey’s

Last season our team were talking about getting new jersey’s and we all got together and some of us on the team went to a site and customized our own jersey style and as a team we took a vote on which jersey we liked the most and the team and I chose the style that Shawn made we all liked it and we waited for our jerseys for a while. We finally got them on Monday it is exciting to have new jersey’s we are going to make an appearance in them during our game this Friday I got my name on the back of my jersey and so did four of my team mates we are all excited to get to play in them. On Tuesday I was talking to one of my team mates saying that it is awesome that we got to get jersey’s with our names on it, I also told him that I never thought I would get a jersey that had my last name on it until I was playing in college it is just an unbelievable feeling to me.

Just the beginning

The Lakers lost to the Washington Wizards from what I saw on previews of the game when I was watching the Chicago Bulls and the New Orleans Pelicans, Kobe had a great start at the half he had 20 points and also at the half the Lakers had it close the score was 52-54 but they fell to the Wizards, The high scorer was Kobe he had 29 points and the second highest scorer on the team was Nick Young who recently came back from an injury he had 21 points even though the Lakers lost I see something good on how the Lakers have been playing since the start of the season they have been keeping games close. Kobe is doing pretty good and seeing the other players getting involved is a great thing because it shows that the Lakers are becoming a cohesive unit. That is a great thing for the Lakers because knowing that they are starting to play like that it seems like they are ready to start taking the NBA by storm and get themselves back in the talks about possibly the playoffs. That is my opinion on the Lakers because it is still just the beginning of the season if you are doubting the Lakers already I think you should reconsider that because who knows they could easily turn things around. Sure the Lakers are 4-14 right now but are you going to think that the Lakers are already to far behind to become a contender for the playoffs? That is insane! The season has just begun there is 82 games in a season and they have only played 18 they have 64 games left. They have the talent to make the playoffs they just need to find the right mix of players to keep themselves in the mix to make a playoff appearance. My opinion is that the Lakers are a great team and they shouldn’t be out of the talks of teams that can make the playoffs just because of the poor start like I said they have 64 games left in this season that is enough time to turn things around. I believe that everybody is still holding on to last season where the Lakers were nowhere near of making the playoffs. Everybody that is doubting the Lakers need to let go of how the Lakers did last year clearly the Lakers are a different team this year but nobody is noticing that just because everybody thinks the Lakers are just bad they aren’t going to make it anywhere they cant make the playoffs this is all I heard before the season started everybody was saying that and seeing the start they are having I bet all the doubters are thinking see that I was right the Lakers aren’t going to make it anywhere, Hmm everybody is quick to judge they just need time the Lakers will prove everybody that doubted them wrong this is just how I feel because I am a true Lakers fan.

Kobe making history

Kobe and the Lakers played the Toronto Raptors on Sunday he is the first person in NBA history to hit 6,000 assist and also having at least 30,000 points kobe said after the game "Its a huge honor. it means i pass more then people say" it always seems like there is always something huge to say about kobe when they play Toronto because back in 2006 kobe scored 81 points in that game that is still the most points he has scored in a game. kobe is a great player when he is healthy this year he has been doing pretty great even though the team hasn't been doing so well but they are slowly getting back on track my opinion on why the Lakers are having a hard time winning games is because they are still trying to get used to playing with all the new players the Lakers got this off season it takes time to get your team chemistry to where you want it to be because you have to get to know how all the players play on the floor and what kind of style they are used to so i think the Lakers are just trying to get used to all the new players and they should be on track soon and start winning games so they could be a contender.

contract talks and possible player signing

Guard Wayne Ellington joined the Lakers with a non-guaranteed one year deal for $ 1.1 Million but on monday his contract became guaranteed $581,692 locking in almost 55% of his total salary, the sixth year guard is averaging 7.5 points through 10 appearances shooting 50% from the field and 36.7 from the three point range, Ellington was recently granted leave because he had to go back to his home town because his father Wayne Ellington SR. was shot to death in a tragic shooting, with the Lakers having 4 players out with extended injuries the team may be granted an exception to have a 16th player added to their roster because of all the players they have lost due to injuries. I'm guessing that the Lakers are going to use the 16th spot on their roster on Earl Clark who has been on the Lakers before but they are thinking about bringing him up from the D league they have had talks about signing him for a while now but the deal hasn't been finalized they say that they could either wait for the NBA to finalize hardship exception to finish the deal or waive the injured Xavier Henry who is owed a guaranteed $1.1 Million deal. my opinion is i don't think they should trade Xavier Henry because he is a great player when healthy he recently came back from a couple of injuries but he ended up getting hurt again he tore his achilles so he is out for the year. so i think they should just wait for the NBA to approve the hardship exception so they could keep Xavier Henry and get Earl Clark

Can not think of a title

The Lakers played the Rockets opening night it wasn't the type of game i wanted to see from the Lakers but i really shouldn't say anything it was only the first game of the season every team needs time to get used to all the players and play as a team the Lakers effort wasn't bad even though they lost the game the only thing that matters is they didn't give up they still tried. late in the game Kobe and Dwight got into it because Dwight got the rebound and he elbowed Kobe twice on the head and the face so after that him and Kobe were going back and forth exchanging words and when they showed Kobe you can see that he said "Try me" he was saying that to Dwight, for that little scuffle they got double technicals and Kobe got a personnel foul, In the 4th Quarter Rookie Forward Julius Randle fractured his right tibia it is sad that he got hurt because he got hurt in his first NBA game and it is sad news to hear that he is going to be out for the remainder of his rookie season.

Kobe Bryant going into his final year in his contract he was supposed to be a mentor to Julius Randle but Randle went down with a fractured tibia the reason Kobe wanted to be a mentor to Randle was because the Lakers are planning to make Randle the franchise player like Kobe, The upside of Kobe teaching Randle what he was able to before the injury is that when Randle is healthy to play next year and Kobe wont be there Randle could have the chance to shine and show what Kobe has taught him so I have a feeling that Randle will have a great season next year.

Kobe said he is struggling to stay patient with the Lakers because he said that he was passing to his team mates but they would fumble his passes and miss the lay ups when they did get the chance for a lay up, when Kobe was on the bench he was talking to Jeremy Lin saying that he has to run the offense the way that he is telling him and then he brought up an old team mate "saying that him and Derek Fisher used to bicker and snipe at each other all the time and that he couldn't love a team mate more," Kobe said that " these guys are young, man. it takes a little time to get used to that" that teams become really great by challenging each other."

The Facilitator

The Lakers and Kobe played differently on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors, Kobe was being a facilitator and in the article that I was reading about the way the game turned out is that everybody liked Kobe being the facilitator because it opened up more options for the team to score but going back to one of my later post this is exactly what Kobe was saying he needed his team mates to get open and create space for themselves. Which they did on Sunday which turned into a win I think if the Lakers continue to play the way they did on Sunday they can get themselves above 500. And get themselves back on track to a contender in the western conference which is going to be difficult to get on track with their division because the other teams in their division are doing pretty good and they are 10.5 games behind everybody else.
